Super Mario Run Geared For December Release

You are soon to see Mario, the eponymous plumber, on iPhone and iPad!

The release date of Super Mario Run, the most-awaited side-scrolling, auto-runner platformer video game is confirmed. The game developer Nintendo has announced that the Super Mario Run game featuring the iconic video game hero goes on sale for iPhone and iPad on December 15 in US time zones. Android version of the game is expected later.

The App Store description of Super Mario Run says, “A new kind of Mario game that you can play with one hand. In this game, Mario constantly moves forward through the courses while you use a variety of jumps to navigate. Mario will behave differently depending on the timing of your taps, so it’s up to you to show off particularly smooth moves, gather coins, and reach the goal.”

Super Mario Run can be downloaded from the App Store freely. Players can try elements of the game’s three modes for free. A one-time in-app purchase of $9.99 (United States price) will grant unlimited access to each of the three modes in this release.

Mario – The Endless Runner

Mario is designed as an endless runner who automatically runs from left to right. Player can make Mario jump by tapping the touch screen. The player must tactically move Mario over gaps, against enemies, and into coins (to collect them). Fetching Mario victoriously through all the hurdles in the fastest time possible is the game’s goal.

Geared for a Runaway Hit

The app is anticipated to be a runaway success, once it reaches the app stores on December 15th. The team has crafted and implemented careful marketing and promotion plans to make it an instant hit with users.

Nintendo made the official announcement on Apple’s September 2016 Event. The game designer Shigeru Miyamoto demonstrated the new Super Mario Run for iOS at the event. This move of exposing their upcoming game in a celebrated media moment is considered to be a smart marketing strategy from Nintendo’s part.

Super Mario Run appears in App Store with a call to action (CTA) to sign up for a launch-day notification. This has ensured the right kind of interest accumulation before the actual launch date. The game has managed to get more than 20 million notification sign-ups. They have taken care of the ASO strategies well by featuring impressive icon, screenshots and description that are persuasive enough to download the app.

After divulging the news and getting people interested in knowing more, Nintendo unveiled supermariorun.com .The website has helped in keeping prospects’ interest alive by providing them with a wealth of knowledge on the game. The site features attractive video and several screenshots on the game.

Super Mario Run is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later. The game is set to be launched in 151 countries and regions. It supports English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese language options. Super Mario Run is the first Super Mario Bros. game developed specifically for mobile devices.

Besides Mario, the other top-selling video game franchised by Nintendo are The Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon.
