(Asynchronous Operations in iOS with Grand Central Dispatch)

What does it do:
This API is used to perform asynchronous operations in iOS.
This will help to perform long operations without interrupting or blocking user interface and other operations.
You can execute GCD by leaving your main thread to continue it’s tasks.

GCD is available from iOS 4.0 or higher

GCD can improve your application’s responsiveness by helping you defer longer tasks and run them in the background.
This helps to optimise the app code which will be useful for higher performance of the app.
